This year’s group of Conservation Club members enjoyed a day at Lake Tobias last week learning about water safety from PA Fish and Boat Commission Officer Mark Sweppenheiser. Students learned how to navigate in a canoe, how to right a canoe should it flip, and how to safely swim to shore in their PFDs (personal flotation devices). The members of the club and their advisors thank both Officer Sweppenheiser and Lake Tobias for this learning opportunity. The lessons learned will prepare us for our annual trout stocking trips in the spring.

Any MS or HS student interested in volunteering for Tribe TV should report to the MS or HS office for paperwork. Tribe TV participants volunteer to run the district’s video equipment at indoor varsity games. This service, provided by our students, helps those unable to attend the opportunity to view the event. Tribe TV also provides an opportunity for students to learn about live-streaming and the knowledge/equipment needed for this purpose.
