Superintendent's Message
Greetings Millersburg Area SD,
I am thrilled to take this opportunity to introduce myself to our community. I grew up in Lewisburg and studied education at Bucknell University. I taught in special education classrooms for eight years while completing my master’s degree and special education supervisory certificate at Bloomsburg University. I then worked as a special education administrator for eight years. I completed my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Drexel University and began employment with the Capital Area IU in 2021. I have gained valuable experiences from these positions and look forward to serving this community. I realized while working at CAIU, that I thrive in small rural school districts where I can forge close connections to staff and students.
Beyond my professional life, I cherish time with my family. I am a proud parent of two girls and two boys, ranging in age from 23 to nine. We particularly enjoy the outdoors: hunting, fishing, walking, travelling, sports, and swimming, etc. Our family is completed by a pair of English Springer Spaniels named Prim and Pippa.
As the Superintendent of Schools, it is my intent to be accessible and approachable, and to support staff in emulating a positive, welcoming atmosphere for student growth. I can assure students and families that we will have open communication and a safe learning environment where all students can experience success. As we start of the 24-25 school year, I will share more information about my vision for our school district.
In closing, I want to share a quote that inspires me and encapsulates our journey ahead. “Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe, and enthusiastically act upon… must inevitably come to pass! - Paul J. Meyer.
Let’s dream big Millersburg!
Warm regards,
Lee Bzdil
