Solar Eclipse - Early Dismissal

April 4, 2024

Dear Millersburg Area Community,

The Millersburg Area School District will have an early dismissal on Monday, April 8, 2024, due to the solar eclipse. Elementary students will be dismissed beginning at approximately 12:45pm. MS/HS High students will begin dismissal at 1pm. As with any typical weather-related early dismissals, students will receive breakfast and lunch at school prior to dismissal.

The decision to dismiss early has been made after much review of available information and consideration of how-to best support student safety. The timing of the eclipse is a key factor. The eclipse will occur during school hours and will overlap with student dismissal.  Due to safety concerns with dismissal occurring during the eclipse, we will dismiss early. If you have any questions, please contact your building principal.
