    The Millersburg Area Board of School Directors appointed Dr. G. Brian Toth  to the position of interim superintendent effective January 1, 2022 at our November 16, 2021 board meeting.

    Dr. Toth retired from public education after 18 years as a superintendent of schools serving in two districts. Brian retired after seven years as Superintendent at the St. Mary’s Area School District. Brian started his 38 year education career as a mathematics and computer teacher. He is certified in mathematics, general science, secondary principal, superintendent of schools and distance education. He is a graduate of Penn State University, St. Francis University, Indiana University of PA and completed his administrative certifications at California University of PA.

    Dr. Toth is looking forward to a smooth transition and in working with the Board to accomplish what is best for students. Toth said, “… my academic preparation and experience have combined “meaning” and “action” to achieve continuous improvement. The key to leading a successful school district is to implement and create responsive and inclusive learning environments that offer many pathways for student engagement using a variety of effective teaching and learning strategies. Most importantly we must keep in mind the needs of all students and provide opportunities and access to a quality education for all.”

    The Board wants to thank Mr. Haupt again for his service to the district.  Mr. Haupt’s last day with the District will be December 31, 2021.
