Follow-Up Statement Regarding The Marching Band Program

August 18, 2020

On the morning of August 18, 2020, the Millersburg Area School District was informed by the Department of Health that the Contact Tracers have concluded their investigation into the confirmed case of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) affecting one of our students in the marching band.  The Department of Health has concluded that there are no (0) close contacts identified in the marching band that are required to quarantine.

The Millersburg Area School District would like to commend the marching band staff and students for their diligent work in following the extracurricular health and safety plan in place, which effectively mitigated this exposure.  While this is good news, we are asking our community for their assistance to slow the spread of COVID-19 by following all recommended precautions from the Department of Health.

The Millersburg Area Marching Band will continue to suspend all activities until August 31, 2020 in alignment with the announcement suspending all extracurricular athletic activities.

The Millersburg Area School District will continue to fully cooperate with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and monitor cases related to its schools. The health and safety of students and staff will remain our highest priority.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
