School Meal Information For Families Due to COVID-19 Mandated Closure

Millersburg Area School District Families,

The Pennsylvania Department of Education has approved a waiver for the Millersburg Area School District that will allow us to offer all children 18 years of age and younger Free Grab-and-Go Bagged Meals on Mondays and Thursdays for the duration of the Governor’s mandatory school closure.  Meals will be prepared by the district’s food service vendor, Nutrition, Inc., and distributed by members of the administrative staff at the Millersburg High School main entrance on Mondays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  Multiple days of lunches and breakfasts will be provided.  Lunches will include sandwiches, fresh vegetables, fruit and milk. Cereal and other assorted breakfast items, along with a fruit, juice and milk be provided for breakfast. Under this new waiver, meals may be distributed directly to a child or to a child’s parent or guardian.  In order to maintain the required accountability to operate under this waiver, parents or guardians picking up meals for their children will be asked to identify the child the meals will be provided to.

The District continues to take seriously the precautions issued by the Governor and the PA Department of Health of “Stay Home and Stay Safe”.  Although this direction from the Governor is not possible during meal distribution, we will continue to practice safe social distancing.

Thank you.
