Our 6-12 Life Skills classroom is designed to empower our students with the skills they will need to become active and productive members of their community through classroom instruction, community-based instruction, and PAES Lab experiences. We are fortunate to be equiped with the emenities needed to encourage the development of independent and/or supported living skills. Our Life Skills Suite includes a fully-functional kitchen, a laundry room, a classroom, and a private bathroom facility. Each space is dedicated to specific activities geared toward daily living skills.
We are also proud to say that our high school students operate and staff the Jump Start Cafe! High School Life Skills students have the opportunity to gain real-life experience as the owners and operators of their very own cafe. Twice a week they receive orders and provide beverages and snacks to members of our faculty and staff. They are responsible for maintaining product, keeping a clean work environment, practicing proper personal hygiene, and fulfilling orders and service to customers.
