Our 6-12 Life Skills classroom is designed to empower our students with the skills they will need to become active and productive members of their community through classroom instruction, community-based instruction, and PAES Lab experience. We are fortunate to be equipped with the amenities needed to encourage the development of independent and/or supported living skills. Our Life Skills Suite includes a fully-functional kitchen, a laundry room, a classroom, and a private bathroom. Each space is dedicated to specific activities geared toward daily living skills.
We are also proud to say that our high school students operate and staff the Jump Start Cafe! High School Life Skills students have the opportunity to gain real-life experience as the owners and operators of their very own cafe. Twice a week, they receive orders and provide beverages and snacks for members of our faculty and staff. They are responsible for maintaining products, keeping a clean work environment, practicing proper personal hygiene, and fulfilling orders and service to customers.
