The curriculum for the Millersburg Middle School Social Studies department is comprised of Ancient History, Geography and American History.  Sixth grade students review the concepts of latitude and longitude and then move into developing an understanding of the criteria that relates to all civilizations. Topics include geography, religion, achievements, politics and the economy as we move through history. Seventh grade students review the five themes of geography and tools used by geographers to study the world.  Students then apply those themes and tools to different regions like the United States, Canada, and Mexico.  Eighth Grade students study American History from Washington’s presidency to the Civil War.
