The philosophy and mission of the Millersburg Area School District Department of Music is to cultivate the musical development of each student. This process encompasses musical performance, literacy, cultural understanding, cross-curricular connections and disciplined teamwork. A music education fosters creativity, expression, self-esteem, an admirable work ethic and social skills. The Millersburg music program endeavors to create well-rounded, responsible musicians who are able to proficiently function within large and small performance groups, and the solo setting. Through curricular ensembles, elective coursework, and extra-curricular activities, the music department strives for excellence in performance catered to each student's stage of musical development. Through music, we help build youth who will become responsible, well-adjusted, contributing adults in society.
