Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year.  6th grade students will begin this year by reviewing Latitude and Longitude.  We will then segway into discussing traits of early civilizations.  We will then begin to talk about different civilizations such as the ancient Sumerians, Babylonians, Greeks and Egyptians and Romans. Students will be issued textbooks at the start of the year.  Students WILL be required to bring their textbooks to class on a daily basis. Students may wish to work on any assignment during FLEX periods.  Please encourage your student to keep the book covered even though it is at home to minimize and damage that may occur to the book.
8th grade will begin the year by discussing the United States Constitution. Other concepts covered this year will include Washington's presidency, the Jefferson Era, the Industrial Revolution, the Age of Jackson, the idea of Manifest Destiny and the Civil War.  Eighth grade students will also receive their textbooks at the beginning of the year.  Students may utilize an online version of the textbook while at school on their school issued device, as I do not have enough copies to issue a classroom set and a set for home.
PLANNERS:  ALL students are issued a planner at the start of the year.  Please check the planner each night to make sure your student is filling out work for each class on a daily basis. Parents and students may also check my Google Classroom site daily for assigned work, assessment dates, potential project dates and announcements.
DEVICES:   *****Please have your student charge their school issued device NIGHTLY and BRING their charger to school with them daily.  I do NOT have extra chargers for students to use.
