Wellness Wisdom: Mental Health and COVID-19 Student Presentation

Thursday, February 26th FLEX Period (Zoom presentation)

Millersburg Middle and High School students will engage in a Live (virtual) presentation on February 26, 2021 during their FLEX/Advisory periods with school-based therapist from TrueNorth Wellness, Jennifer Finn. She will be presenting a 30-minute presentation on how a global pandemic might impact the mental health of individuals. Students will learn about how mental health is involved with our current pandemic, some anxiety and depression signs to look out for,  and strategies you can use in your everyday life to cope with the uncertainty and stress you might encounter. Throughout the presentation, there will be  reflection questions for students to briefly respond to on a piece of paper. The goal is to get students thinking and encourage them to reflect on themselves since the pandemic began last year. During this presentation students will watch a brief 4-minute psychoeducation video on depression and anxiety. If time  allows, Jennifer will introduce students to one of the strategies for coping at the end the presentation, a 5-minute guided meditation.
