Grading and Accountability:
- The third marking period was scheduled to end on March 18th, but Governor Wolf’s ordered shutdown took effect March 16th. District administration felt the reasonable approach was to move the end of the third marking period to March 13th (the last day students were in school prior to the shutdown) which only shortens the third marking period by three (3) days. Principals instructed all teachers to calculate third marking period grades based on work completed and submitted through March 13th. No student will be penalized for any incomplete work due to the mandated closure.
- Our goal during this extended school closure is to ensure that everyone is successful – students, parents and teachers. Our teachers have developed Planned Instruction activities and Enrichment and Review activities for your child(ren) to remain engaged in the learning process. The District is encouraging all students to do their best to complete the assigned material although none of it will be graded, teachers will provide direct instructional feedback to students.
