• Special Education and Gifted Teacher Guidance:

    Special education, gifted education, and English Learner teachers should communicate with core subject teachers on reasonable supports which can be implemented to meet the needs of students with Individualized Education Plans, Gifted Individualized Education Plans, and individualized language plans within the scope of the Continuity of Education Plan.  This communication should be done in any mode deemed reasonable and practical by the special education/gifted teachers and core subject teachers.  All teachers should review Section 504 plans for students they instruct to consider how they can implement supports and make accommodations to best meet the needs of those students.


    K-12 Special Education Teachers Office Hours:

    Email continues to be an effective communication strategy.  All teachers will provide more information about this when they communicate with families. Beginning April 6, 2020, all teachers will be available for communication from 8 AM - 10 AM and 1 PM - 3 PM, Mondays through Fridays, with a 24-hour maximum response time.   The method of communication is up to each individual teacher but the method they decide upon must be posted to the teacher’s website by 3:00 PM on April 5th along with any information students/parents would need to make that communication.
