Millersburg Area School District
The scheduled summer work in the High School phase of the renovation project is nearing completion. The contractors are finishing their scheduled work and clean up efforts are underway to ensure the building is ready to open, as scheduled, for the first student and staff day.
You may ask yourself, “Where is the ceiling?” as you enter the facility, and with good reason! All of the corridor and classroom ceilings have been removed and will be reinstalled in a future phase of the project. Visitors will first notice the new, secure vestibule at the entrance to the high school, the renovated office area, and an ADA-approved ramp leading to the high school gymnasium. The gym lobby area also features a new entrance and ramp that meets ADA requirements.
The cafeteria and kitchen, as well as the band and chorus room, feature new ceilings and lighting. The high school computer lab has been relocated and features new lighting and a new ceiling. The gymnasium displays new heating and ventilating units as well as new light fixtures.
The new boiler and mechanical rooms are nearing completion; the new propane fuel tanks have been installed and filled. The current coal burning system will be removed in a future phase of the project.
A new electrical room is complete along with new electrical service lines to the building. The building is being rewired and new electrical panels added to assist with the electrical distribution throughout the building.
