The event will be moderated by a representative from ABC 27.

This Town Hall is in response to continued acts of violence within and around schools across the United States. Recent activities have proven that schools in the area covered by the Joint School Safety Taskforce are not immune to the potential of a threat or actual violence. Consequently, this will be an opportunity for everyone to share ideas and discuss the important subject of school safety.

About the Joint School Safety Taskforce: The Joint School Safety Taskforce is a consortium of five school districts in northern Dauphin County and western Schuylkill County with a purpose of providing the cooperative protocols necessary to provide mutual assistance in the event of an
emergency incident affecting a member school or district. This team was formed in December
2016 as a direct result of the potential of an incident affecting the safety and security of a local
school and the need to reunify students with their parents following an evacuation. Since that time,
the JSST has provided much needed focus for member schools in the area of school safety and has
provided a forum for school staff to share ideas, resources and trainings related to emergency
planning and school safety.
