• American History II covers subject matter from 1900- present.  Particular attention will be paid to the years 1900-1950.  Key topics including the Progressive era, WWI, the Great Depression, WWII, the Cold War, Vietnam, etc. We will do all of this with the goal of better understanding how the United States came to be what it is today.

Students will engage in class discussion, projects, debate, and lecture.  They will be responsible for reading assignments prior to class, competing homework and promptly submitting it, taking notes and preparing for both quizzes and tests.  Every effort will be made to find historical topics of both significance and interest.

History has something for everyone.  If you do not like the subject, you do not know the subject.  Within each of our passions lies a history.  We accomplish a greater understanding when we add accurate historic and social fact.

“I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him.”                      Abraham Lincoln
