• Course Description:

    Students will study World Literature and its contributions to Western Culture. A variety of themes will be discussed to further expose the student to a diverse literature curriculum. Students must also demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of a selected World Literature topic by researching, organizing and delivering an oral presentation. In an attempt to enhance comprehension and to expose the students to a variety of authors, each student will be required to read one additional novel per marking period. Titles will be provided from a teacher prepared book list. This course also emphasizes the study of grammar, usage, agreement, and mechanics. In addition to submitting a research paper, various writing assignments will also be required to reinforce the grammar instruction. Students will also study vocabulary throughout the year and will read "Hamlet".
