• 8th Grade Social Studies:


    • American History is the topic being taught in 8th grade.  This class prepares the student for the initial content that will be expanded upon in American History II.  Concepts taught include Launching a New Republic, The Jefferson Era, National and Regional Growth, The Age of Jackson, Manifest Destiny, and the Civil War.

    • The textbook is entitled : Creating America.


    • Throughout the course of the year, students will be assessed  (but not limited to) in the areas of homework, tests, quizzes, projects, map work, speeches, and writing assignments.

    • Students will be notified well in advance of any change made to the classroom schedule.

    • Homework needs to be completed for the next scheduled class meeting time. Work will be collected and graded as part of the student's grade.  Homework will/may be assigned over weekends. Homework is assigned to all students.  It is the responsibility of the student to get any missed work due to absence.  It is the responsibility of the student to make up any missed work in a timely fashion per policy stated in student handbook.
