Contemporary Global Issues2016-2017 2nd SemesterJr/Sr Elective CourseThis course is designed to be an introduction and overview of topics that affect the world today. It is driven by student interest and makes heavy use of discussion during class. Topics covered have ranged from self-driving cars to political divisions in Iraq. The workload involves reading articles, watching videos, and listening to podcasts and answering questions that require students to develop and explain their opinions on the issues being covered. The topics can shift in real time as events take place. Examples of developing news stories that have been covered this semester are the Presidential election and the Syrian refugee crisis.***Assignments for this course can be found on Google Classroom.
