Mr. David Shover
After graduating from Williamsport Area High School in 1981, Mr. Shover attended Messiah College and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education in 1985. He spent the next 29 years serving as Director of Vocal Music in Camp Hill Middle/High School. His ensembles in Camp Hill received National recognition, including several Hershey Apollo Awards. He received his M.Ed Degree in Educational Development & Strategies from Wilkes University in 1991, and earned a second M.Ed in Educational Leadership with a focus on K-12 Principal Certification in 2010 from Edinboro University. He began his tenure with the Millersburg Area School District as High School Principal in March of 2014 and became Middle School/High School Principal July 1, 2016. Mr. Shover is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping. He is happily married to his wife Carolyn, has four children, ages 29, 27, 14, and 12. From 2010-2014, he directed the choir and vocal jazz ensembles on the American Music Abroad Silver Tour of Europe and has served as worship leader and musical director at several churches in central Pennsylvania over the past 30 years. In his spare time, he still enjoys playing and teaching piano lessons at the Grace M. Pollock Performing Arts Center and serving as guest conductor & pianist for area school musicals and festivals, most recently serving as the guest director of the DCMEA Festival at Founder's Hall in Hershey, PA in April of 2016 where he had the privilege to work with the Middle School singers from all over Dauphin County including our own students from Millersburg Area Middle School.
