Modern American History2016-2017 1st SemesterJr/Sr Elective CourseThis course is intended to be an examination of the United States from 1980 until the present. Topics covered will include the Iran hostage crisis, “Miracle on Ice”, Challenger disaster, Iran-Contra, Exxon Valdez, Gulf War, OJ Simpson trial, Oklahoma City bombings, Clinton impeachment, 9/11, and the Iraq War. Broader topics such as the presidential elections as well as developments in technology, disease, and terrorism will also be covered. Completion of American Cultures II is required before taking this course.***Assignments for this course can be found on Google Classroom.
