• 2018-2019 School Year

    Dear Student and Family,

WELCOME TO 2nd GRADE!!! I hope you are enjoying the rest of your summer and are looking forward to the start of a new school year. I am thrilled to have you in my class, and I am excited to get to know you. We have fun lessons and activities planned for this school year!

I would like to take a moment to tell you a little about myself. In May 2006, I graduated from Lock Haven University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and minor in Reading. Shortly after, I obtained a Master’s Degree in Literacy Education from Penn State Harrisburg. This is my third year teaching second grade, and I am very excited! Prior to teaching second grade, I taught fifth grade, instructed in the speech and language classroom, taught elementary gifted, and instructed high school reading support. I am married and have a five year old daughter named Lillie. I also have an American Bulldog named Gus. I enjoy traveling, listening to music, and being outdoors.

My goal is to continuously provide an environment where your child feels comfortable and confident to take on the daily tasks of learning. I will encourage respect and cooperation in the classroom.

I am very interested in making this a successful year. To ensure this success, we must keep the lines of communication open. I believe whole-heartedly that teacher/parent communication is vital in a child’s education. We are a team and your support and involvement are important in the growth of your child. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any thoughts, concerns, or questions. You may call me at school at 717-692-3072 or email at millerc@mlbgsd.k12.pa.us . I am also available to meet upon request. I look forward to working with you to enhance your child’s education.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Cheryl Miller
