Mrs. Sarah McAlanis
My name is Mrs. Sarah R. McAlanis. I graduated from Tri-Valley High School in 2000 with honors. In 2004 I graduated from Bloomsburg University with a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education. I attained my first Master's degree from Bloomsburg University in Reading in December of 2008. In December of 2012, I earned my second Master's degree in Special Education.
I was hired by Millersburg Area School District for the 2004-2005 school year as a Learning Support Teacher and am highly qualified to teach English to students in grades 7-12. In 2010, I became the high school Life Skills Teacher for Millersburg High School. For the 2015-2016 school year I was the life skills teacher for the middle school. From 2016 to the present, I am the learning support teacher for the middle and high school for English.
I live in Millersburg with my husband, sons, daughter, bunny, hamster, two cats, and dog. Our oldest son was born in 2012, and our dog is a pure bred Saint Bernhard that we rescued. My husband and I had our second son in September of 2014. My daughter was born in December of 2015. My favorite hobbies are reading, gardening, canning, baking, and spending time with my beautiful family. My favorite authors are Mary Higgins Clark, Agatha Christie, Gregory Maguire, and Phillippa Gregory. My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love to drink hot tea any flavor.
