Report Cards will be distributed to students today at the end of school. The Report Cards list student's 1st marking period grades. I encourage all parents to look over the report card with your children and check on their progress. It's hard to believe that we are into the 2nd marking period already. If you have any concerns about your child's grade or progress in a particular class, now is the time to schedule a parent conference with his/her teacher(s). Your son/daughter will be bringing home a form for you to schedule conferences. I encourage you to schedule conferences with your child's teachers even if they are doing well.  It's a great opportunity to speak to teachers one on one and see what is being taught in the classroom.  If you are unable to come in during conferences, please contact the high school office and we will have the teacher contact you.  Parent Conferences will be held on the evening of Monday, November 21 from 6:30-8:45 PM and Tuesday, November 22 from 8:00-2:45.

Yes, it's mid-marking period.  I can't even believe that I'm typing that. Thursday, Sept. 29 marks the mid point of the first marking period. This is a great time for parents to check the Parent Portal to see how your child is doing in school.  Teachers will be writing Progress Reports this week and we will mail them the week of Oct. 3. Senior high students will meet with advisers for the first time on Thursday, Sept. 29 to check their progress on the Community Service Project. Teacher's web pages are a good source of information for parents.  There you will also find teacher's email addresses. Email is a great way to contact teachers if you have questions. Teachers also have phones in their classrooms now. If you call the office, you can be directed to a teacher's voice mail. As always, if you have any questions about anything else, give me a call in the office. Here's to a great 7/8 of the rest of the school year!!

We had a great first day of school at Millersburg High School.  The members of HS Student Council formed a tunnel in front of the school and welcomed both MS and HS students to a new school year.  After a meeting in the auditorium, students followed an abbreviated schedule meeting all of their teachers. It was a great start to the new school year!

Well, it's just two more weeks until the students return for another school year. The band had another successful Band Camp, and today the Fall Sports Teams all begin practicing. We are excited for the beginning of the 2016-17 school year and are eagerly preparing things in our offices and awaiting the arrival of the students for the first day of school - Monday, August 29. We will open the Parent Portal later this week. Any parents who have not signed up for a password are encouraged to do so at Back-To-School Night on Thursday, September 8. The program begins at 6:30 in the auditorium.  Enjoy the remaining days of summer.  As always, if you have any questions, please call the office.

Tomorrow marks the end of the 3rd marking period. Report Cards for the 3rd marking period will be distributed on Tuesday, April 12.  We are now beginning the home stretch towards the end of the school year.  Spring sports are in full swing. Plans are coming along well for the 2016 Prom and Prom Walk, and we are gearing up for the end-of-the-year activities.  The first-ever STEM Summit will take place on Wednesday, April 13 at Halifax High School and all of our 9th and 10th grade students will be participating. Keystone Exams will take place during the month of May. Parents and students are reminded that students must still pass the Keystone Exams in order to graduate.  Otherwise, students will need to schedule and pass the Keystone remediation class and will lose an elective course. If you have any questions about the status of the Keystone Exams, please feel free to contact us in the high school office. Come out and cheer on our baseball, softball, and track teams, and plan to attend the Spring Band/Choral Concert in May. Summer is just around the corner!
